Need GB guru help

I just upgraded to 2007 pro, US version. Apparently I had a transaction back in June of 2004 that somehow got duplicated. It shows 2 sales receipts with the same number and amount. Since the upgrade I have a deposit in the record deposits (Undeposited funds) window for that transaction waiting for it to be deposited. It was a credit card transaction and long since cleared. Is there any way to get rid of that? I tried deleting the deposit, Voiding the sales slip I am not allowed to do either. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ron,

What happens when you try to delete this? Do you receive an error? If so, what is the error?

Thanks! Amy

Was this duplicate sale reported on your 2004 tax return(s)? If yes then perhaps you may what to account for the reversal in 2006.

When I void the deposit it just goes back to undepostited funds. When I void the sale receipt it tells me it can't because it has already been processed. It was a credit card transaction. I am certain I accounted for it at the time. It was not processed through QuickBooks merchant.

I do not even care. It is not worth the aggravation for $34.00 sale. I just do not want to look at this as an undeposited item for the rest of my days.

Then the solution is a mere bag of shells. But I wonder, should the resolution to your problem be worthily of the Allan Martin QB Black Belt? Lets give the current black belt champion Laura a chance with this one.

Looks like you found me in one of my rare moods.

Make a journal entry:

Debit - Undeposited funds for the same amount as the bogus receipt Credit - Sales for the same amount

Made a deposit:

Select the bogus receipt and the journal entry as the entires to be depoisited The deposit should net to zero.

Problem gone.

Thanks but that just added another item to the undeposited funds window. The original was a credit card transaction
