I deposited two checks from two different customers. The deposit transaction shows as the total amount deposited. The downloaded transaction shows the two separate deposits, therefore not allowing me to match them. I can't figure out how to get them matched without going back in and changing some of the transactions.
Any ideas?

The only way to match them is to record the deposit(s), in Quickbooks, the same way you physically put the money in the bank.

I thought I had already done that. Two separate deposits, deposited and recorded separately, happened to get deposited on the same day. QuickBooks combined the two transactions, not me.

Your original post stated "I deposited two checks from two different customers. The deposit transaction shows as the total amount deposited."
This indicates you created a single deposit transaction. How you fix it depends on what method you used to create the deposit.
I'm going to guess that your procedure was to enter each customer check in the "Receive Payments" window, and that the deposit transaction was made using the "Make Deposits" window.
If you recorded two payments, were you using the "Group with other undeposited funds" option. If so, then even though you entered the checks seperately, the funds were 'held' in the undeposited funds account, until you clicked the button to create a deposit that COMBINED the two amounts.
If that is what happened, simply find each payment, and change the "Group with other undeposited funds" option to "Deposit To" and the account you wish.

Correct.
Maybe it's me, but I don't see what you are referring to in any of my menus. I'm using QB Pro '05.
I still have the 2 unmatched deposits and the total deposit showing in my register.

Was just checking over my watched conversations, and I noticed you replied to my post.. Sorry, group, if I am reviving a dead thread.. just want to be sure Dave found what he needed.
Dave, The "group with other undeposited funds" is an option at the bottom of the Receive Payments screen. Clear that option, and instead select your bank account. That way, each time you record a payment, it will create a separate individual deposit into your bank account.

In QuickBooks 2005 Premier Accountant edition there is a preference in the Sales and Customers section in the Receive Payments area that reads "Use Undeposited Funds as a default deposit to account". If this item is checked the the Deposit to option box does not appear on the Customer Payment screen. If you want to have a deposit applied to an account other than Undeposited Funds this preference needs to be unchecked and the Deposit to option box will become available.
