Payroll QBP 2007

Are you having QB generate the paycheck as if it was in real time or are you entering them yourself aka after-the-fact?

QB has an 'after-the-fact' payroll option that might allow you to enter the 2007 history. What payroll subscription are you using?

I am using manual payroll and the Payroll Setup. I can enter the employees with little problem, but the history page wants me to enter more data. I am trying to set up a payment on 1/1/10 for 12/1/09 to 12/31/09 and it refuses to accept it. I have the computer date set to 1/2/10. I get a page that says "Enter paycheck dates for January, 2010 for Catlyn Ellis" and has 3 columns labeled Paycheck Dates, First day of pay period, Last day of pay period.

change those dates to 2006 and 2007.

When you open the Employee center do you see a "payroll" tab? If you do, click on that tab and tell me what it says under Subscription Statuses.

QB2007 is no longer supported by Intuit which means payroll is disabled. This may be the real cause of your problem. I'll fire up my old machine that has 2007 on it to see if I can get payroll w/subscription to work but my guess is it won't.

Now I get a different result....I get an error message that says "QuickBooks does not have the information required to compute amoutns for paychecks dated 01/01/2007. If you create or edit paychecks you will need to verify and correct all paycheck amounts manually."

IIRC, QB only maintains 2 years of payroll tables at a time so paychecks for 2009 and 2010 can be created without any problems right now. This is of course with a valid payroll subscription.

I am not using any payroll service subscriptions. QBP is set up for manual payroll calculations.

Is this a company file that you created or a sample file provided by Intuit? I'm still trying to figure out how to create a paycheck without a payroll subscription.

It is a file I am creating. Go to Help and index Payroll. Go to the last choice there, without a payroll service subscription. A couple of headings down is Set your company file to use the manual payroll calculations setting and click the link for manual payroll calculations.
