Year-end entries Quicken 2007

This time of year Quicken 2007 and previous versions make me a little crazy. Is there any quick and easy way to enter a date for last month, when last month is also last year? In the date field, autocomplete seems always to default to the current year, and in January, when December entries are being made, that's almost always wrong.

After I change the default date to a different date and enter the first transaction, the default date changes to be the new date (including year) that I entered. So there is only a need to change the year once per group of prior year transactions for a given account.

When in the date field, hit "y" which takes you to the beginning of the year (1/1/2008), then hit "-" which goes back 1 day (12/31/2007). Then enter your December dates which should stay in 2007.

As an easy way to remember, the first and last letter of the words "month" and "year" takes you to to the corresponding days of those time period (of the month or year that is in the date field). "+" advances 1 day, "-" goes back a day, and "t" (for today) goes to the current date.
