Running QuickBooks 2003 Accountants Edition. When I run an accounts receivable aging analysis, I get the customer name and the balance in columns based upon the intervals I specify. I would like to add one or two columns, to show the responsible person, and possibly even other info, such as a phone number. How can I add these columns to the report?
In the top left corner of your report window, there is a button called Modify Report. Click on that, then select Name Contact and Name # in the scroll down menu on the left (the box starts off with checks at (left margin) and Type).
When you click OK, your report will display your customer's contact name and telephone number.

OK, I understand, but the report I would like to modify is the "A/R Aging Summary". That report doesn't have the detail, is just lists the customers in the left column, and the aged balances in the columns to the right. I would like to add a column for the responsible person just to the right of the customer column. However, the "A/R Aging Summary" doesn't seem to be modifiable. What do you think?
I do a lot (several hundred) of individual jobs for one large company, and a few individuals are responsible for all the jobs. The company always pays late, so I want to be able to send each responsible person a list of his/her late balances. I generaly export the aging summary to Excel. If I had the responsible person, I would sort by that column, and send each person his own separate report.
Do you have the company as a single entry on your customer jobs list? The easy way might be to have each responsible person as a "job" on the list. Then just sub the jobs under the responsible person.
