My bookkeeper has informed me that QB 2005 has a new problem: when she enters a bill from a vendor, that vendor's name disappears from the vendor list. Only vendors who are owed nothing show up in the list. Is there a fix for this?

Your post declares that QB 2005 as a whole has this problem, I would limit this problem to your workstation only since you are the first to mention this and the program has been out since last December.
Next, bookkeepers sometimes have a tendency assuming the worst when in fact the program is doing exactly what it should be doing. Have the bookkeeper show you the problem and tell her/him to click on the word name. This will sort the list by name rather than balance. Smile and tell her/him that is why you get paid the big bucks.
Yeah, I did that, and that solved the problem. I won't rub it in, since she's my bride.
