Win to Mac 2006

I've got QuickBooks Pro 2006 8.03 R5 running on OSX 10.4.10 and I'm trying to open a .QBW company file from a Windows machine. I do not know what version of QB it was created with (or last saved with).



When attempting to open it (either by double clicking on the icon or opening it from within QB), I get a message that the file was saved with a previous version of QuickBooks and that the company file must be upgraded. I can choose Upgrade and nothing appears to happen even after waiting up to 20 minutes.



I've upgraded to the latest version of QB 2006 and restarted and opened a fresh copy of the QBW file with no effect.



Any ideas on how I can get this file open?

In QB Windows, you have to go under file, utilites, create or save a copy for Mac. (You cannot just open a windows file or backup file in QB Mac--it has to be 'saved special'.) Then in QB Mac you can open the file. Both versions of QB must be the same year.
