error in loading dll

I am receiving an error in integrating RMS to quickbooks and am recieing an error when retrieving from QuickBooks. "Could not connect to QuickBooks. Error Details:error in loading DLL" We are actually using QB 2004 Manufactuing/Wholesale edition, but QuickBooks

2003 is the latest choice in RMS. Does that make any difference? Thanks.

Anna,

Are you using the US or Canadian version of QB? If Canadian, you cannot use the QuickBooks 2003 option, you must use the QuickBooks File version in RMS Accounting setup.

If the US version, is QB on the same machine that you are attempting to connect to? Is QB open and running with the Company file needed?

QB 2003,4 and 5 work with RMS. 2006 isn't supported yet.

You're logged into windows as the administrator, but have you opened the Company file in Quickbooks before you try to connect to it from RMS?

The first time you try to connect from RMS, Quickbooks should display a message saying that an external application is trying to connect and asking if it should be allowed.

Anna,

Is this the exact error message?

Are you running QB in single or multi user mode? If single, try multi. File | Switch to Single or Multi User

Is there any info in the setup screen? SO Manager | File | Configuration | Accounting tab | is there anything in the Company Name or File or are both lines blank?

I guess the next step would be to find out about the Manufacturer/Wholesale version and see what, if any differences between what you have and the straight Pro version. Best info there would probably in the QB support group.
