Work order

Greetings

Using QB 2009 Looking for a form to generate a work order, service as in furnace not working, tap leaking or truck car issues. Is this form available??

Customize an estimate form (change title) to say work order.

Greetings

That is what I am doing. Problems. Form does not identify on opening screen, lookup does not show work order, free form space is not adequate.

what does that mean?

lookup does not show work order

Define lookup.

free form space is not adequate.

Amount you can enter in field or formating capabilities? There is no limit on the amount you can enter for description.

When you open up window and go to invoice drop down Work order does not show. Not a problem if you are working with average or better trained staff. Yet when you continually need to restate estimate = work order, well. Then best I can do on description area is a one line field box that seems to limit Max number of characters.

Nice if could go into billing select work order from drop down and there was a large text box in center where info on type of issue could be entered.

Will accept issue could very easily be with my level of knowledge. That is why I asked.

When I reopen Estimate after using the modified "Work Order" template, the latter is the default the next time. So, to get the default "Estimate" back is when have to select the alternate form from the drop down box.

The Description column doesn't seem limited as Haskell says -- I filled up the page in Preview mode w/ random text. Hadn't ever had need for more than a line or two, but certainly doesn't seem particularly limited from that trial.

Other than that as a workaround, only thing I could see you could do would to be to use Excel or some other tool outside of QB for work orders if the above doesn't suit.
