I am using Quicken 2004 Home & Business. Can I get reports on 2005 Capital Gains? The reports menu doesn't show anything later than 2004.

I've never known a Quicken version that offerred Reports menu choices that included the year in the name. The menu choice for the capital gains report should say ... "Capital Gains". And that report should be able to report capital gains for any year for which you have the underlying data.
Perhaps you have "memorized" a report and given it the name "2004 Capital Gains"? If so, that will not prevent you from creating as many other Capital Gains reports as you like with whatever date ranges you like.
On my Reports Menu >>tax situation>>schedule d capital gains and losses the only choices are tax year 2001, 2002, 2003, or 2004. I should have used Reports Menu >>tax situation>>capital gains and that report gives choice of any year in the data base.
Hmm, my schedule D capital gains/losses report (under tax situation) allows me to choose 2004, 2005 or 2006.... (My data file only goes back through
2004.)Regards,
Margaret
But you are using Q2006, right? The Schedule D version of the Capital Gains report seems to handle data only for the version year and two prior years. I have no idea if that Capital Gains report contains anything any different, under the covers, than the "other" Capital Gains report (under the Report "Investment" choice and the "Tax" choice) which can process data for any year(s).
Yes, I'm using QP2006. The two reports look identical, except the start & ending dates are much more configurable than the Schedule D report.

Margaret
