I recently upgraded from Quicken 2010 to 2011. When I went through the upgrade, it told me that it would make a backup file of my 2010 data before they were converted to the 2011 format. When I opened 2011 a week or so later, it came up as a new install. The Q10File was not on my computer. Using a variety of backups and downloads from the bank and credit cards, I was able to get 2011 current. I made a backup before I exited. When I came back awhile later and started 2011, it again started as a new install. Fortunately, I had my backups and was able to plug them into the install. Why does the program think it is a new install each time it starts? I have been using Quicken forever. This is on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.
