2014 via Amazon

Got the 2014 solicitation from Intuit due to the expiration of my 2011 program's online features. Sorry if this was discussed earlier but their offer is really a slap in the face. Discounted price of $64 for deluxe? I have the product in my Amazon cart & all they want is $30 free shipping. Looks like loyalty is not rewarded by Intuit. Shocking. BTW Premier is $50 vs $95

Hardly. Intuit gets a huge amount of sales from the retail channel. That includes the office supply places, Costco and Amazon. If they offered discounted pricing directly to users, all those sales would disappear overnight. As to renewal loyalty, what exactly is the alternative? MSMoney?

You might also think that Amazon would offer the downloaded version for less than the boxed version. After all no packaging costs, no inventory costs, no shipping costs. They don't. Reason? Pricing has nothing to do with cost, it's based on value. The delivery method doesn't change the value to the customer.

I got 2013 via Amazon (just a download). I guess they figure they can catch those not willing to look a little bit.
