2014 DELUXE REPORT ISSUE

I have numerous reports (saved) from 2013 that I want to use in 2014 but they require some minor modifications. When attempting to modify the reports, I've notice that I am unable to select any accounts. The account list shows, but it's missing the check boxes to select them. I've attached a link (see below) to this email illustrating the problem.

I've have both validated and super validated the file and in neither case were any errors noted.

Can someone (John Pollard) weigh-in and tell me what I need to do to fix this report generation issue?

I'm running Quicken Deluxe 2014, R7. I have no idea when this issue first occurred. I may have been in the initial installation. I've just completed processing 8 months of data and therefore had not previously tried to run reports for the 2014 year.

Whoops, sorry I forgot to add the link to the graphic illustrating the missing check marks.

Sine E-S is 'text only', my previous attempt to provide a link didn't work. Below is an address that you can plug into your browser address box to get to the screenshot.

I have seen the problem reported before; I'm not sure there is a definitive known cause, and I don't know whether the problem has been fixed in Q2015.

Perhaps you can find some relief in one of these two Quicken Community discussions.

[While it is not a big help, I seem to recall that individual accounts could actually be selected/deselected by clicking where the box should be ... you just can't see the effect. That might be ok if you only wanted to select one account, or deselect one account.]

What a 'horror' show. After spending about 6 hours, I finally have the problem solved.

First, I spend well over 2 hours with Intuit Chat and then telephone attempting to solve this problem. We finally gave up and Intuit has a telephone appointment with me for 2 days from now to try again. Fortunately, I will tell them to forget it, I've solved the issue.

The solution steps are similar to those described in the link below, which was graciously provided to me by John Pollard in his reply to this topic.

  1. I completely uninstalled Quicken 2014 using the QcleanupUI.exe file, downloaded from Intuit. I than restarted my system.

  1. I then uninstalled 3 years of TurboTax because they share files with Quicken. Not knowing exactly what was causing the problem, I wanted to eliminate all traces of Intuit Products. I than restarted my system.

  2. I then deleted any remaining TurboTax program folders and files from their default directory C:\Program Files (x86).

  1. Next, I did a comprehensive clean up of the system registry, using regedit, to eliminate any traces of Quick, Intuit and TurboTax from the registry. NOTE: THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS ONE IS ABSOLUTELY SURE OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING. EDITING THE REGISTRY IS DANGEROUS AND COULD LEAD TO SYSTEM FAILURE ISSUES. I again rebooted my system.

  2. Because the above link referred to Net Frame as a possible cause, which I confirm was feasible based on a web search, I uninstalled Net Frame 4.5.1 and installed Net Frame 4.5.2. After installation completion I restarted my system.

  1. I reinstalled Quicken 2014 from by original CD. As part of the installation process, it was automatically updated to R7. Because of all of the above, I did have to up some of the preferences in Quicken.

The bottom line is that I don't really know which of the above solved the problem. I just know that it's solved.
