A solution to Brother HL-1440 report-printing problem

Several users have reported that only the first page of Quicken multipage reports will print when using the Brother HL-1440 laser printer, and then you have to press the printer's button to get the next page out (in our office, all we get is a HALF page after the first page has printed, even if the whole report should take >20 pages). Intuit online chat support could not solve this. Here's a workaround

**if** your Brother printer is connected via parallel port (I haven't tried this with the USB port):

Go to Control Panel, click Printers and Faxes, then add HP LaserJet Series II as a new printer, assigning it to the same port to which your Brother printer is connected (typically LPT1). Now in Quicken, click File, then Printer Setup, and choose Reports/Graphs. Select the HP LaserJet II as the printer for reports and graphs. Everything will print fine, although at 300 dpi instead of 600 dpi (you won't see any difference in printed reports).
