It is that time of year again when mutual funds distribute their gains and I am having problems using the Quicken 2006 On Line One Step Update with all my non-Fidelity mutual funds (e.g., Royce Total Return) held in my Fidelity account. All distributions are being downloaded as dividends regardless of whether the distribution is a long term, short term, or a dividend gain. It is really annoying in that I have to go into every account and change the false "dividend" gains to short term or long term gains. This happens regardless of whether the fund is being held in an IRA or brokerage account.
Is this a Fidelity problem or a Quicken problem? Is there a fix?
