Bill vs. Scheduled Transaction questions

I have two questions I've not been able to answer yet using provided documentation. Any help on these would be appreciated. These related to Quicken 2004 and although they are on the Mac version for OS X, I believe they are generic to the application.

1) In the "Edit Scheduled Transaction" window, you can define a "TYPE" of Bill, Deposit, or Other. This selection obviously controls what group the transactions show up in in the Upcoming Bills window. It seems, however, that there is no other effect that this has on the transactions being scheduled. Are there any actual functional differences (other than the Upcoming Bills report window) between these selections?

2) What is the real difference between an Upcoming Bill and a Scheduled Transaction? Are the upcoming Bills just a descriptive subset of Scheduled Transactions, or is there a real functional or conceptual difference in the way they are viewed and handled?
