Open Application Message

I am using Quicken 2005 for several months. Now when I do a backup I get a message Windows installer loading Quicken. Then another window that another application is running. The windows installer window will go away and if I hit OK on the application running it goes away but not until this process happens 3 times. Then everything is normal and I can backup. I was going to reinstall Quicken but I have to uninstall it first and I didn't want to do that yet. Everything else seems ok. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks Jeff

Intuit says you must be running with administrative privileges to avoid the problem you are seeing.

But one Quicken user suggests that you can solve the problem with less capabilities.

Jeff,

Don't waste your time reinstalling.

If you are running as an user in WinXP Pro, that is the messages you will receive.

If you run as an Administrator it will perform normally.

What a dumb way to write a program.

I am signed in as administrator. I am the only user and never changed anything. Running Win XP Pro. Is there any setting I have to change? As I said I've been using it for months. Thanks Jeff

Jeff,

I have the same problem when I am signed in as an User.

When signed in as an Administrator I do not receive the error messages and back-up works as designed.

Sorry I do not know of any settings that can be changed.
