Q2014 Window Size Question?

I just installed Q2014 and everything seems to be working ok so far except for one thing. When I start Quicken 2014, it opens in full screen - I want to determine the size of the window. Most of my programs, I use the Maximize/Minimize button in the upper right corner to change from full screen to a minimize screen and then drag it to the size I want. When I close those programs, they come back to the resized windows I set up. But with Q2014, I do the same thing, but when I close it and reopen it goes back to the full size.

How do I correct that so I can resize my opening windows to the size I want?

Thanks for any insights. charliec

Hi, Charlie.

Works fine for me in Win8.1. You didn't mention which Windows version you are using.

You probably mean to "Restore Down" to your previously-set size. This is the middle, square icon in the upper right; it toggles between "Maximize" and "Restore Down" when you have a smaller window memorized. "Minimize" reduces the window to just an icon on the Taskbar, leaving us no visible borders to drag.

No, there was a problem with the R1 version of the program which was installed from the package I brought. I had a chat with Tech Support on the issue and he had me update to R2 and it is now working in the normal fashion. The problem is in R1, if anyone else ask.

Right click on Quicken program select Properties then look at run parameter drop down list.

Hi, Marty.

Thanks for that reminder.

As a further reminder: That context menu offers 3 choices: Normal window, Minimized and Maximized.

A "Normal windows" can be stretched with the mouse (or by the keyboard arrows). When stretched to fill the full screen, it looks like a Maximized window - but it is not. It can be shrunk with the mouse (or arrows), but a Maximized window cannot be.
