Upgrading From Q2012 to Q2014?

I'm looking at upgrading from Q2012 Deluxe to Q2014 Deluxe - any issues one needs to be aware of or watch out for? Thanks for any insights!

I have nothing to tell you, but I'd like to ask you to tell us what it's like after you do it.

I'm trying to wait until the combo package (Quicken/Turbotax) is available, to save costs! Will react after then, but just trying to get a headsup for now to start planning.

Same here. Although depending what the combo cost is compared to the TT cost alone, and what Quicken is like, I may elect to just get TT.

Same here! That's what I did on the Q2013 release.

I upgraded to QH&B 2013 mainly to get the cloud feature to use with my android phone Quicken app. However, the app has been buggy (e.g., trying to manually enter a transaction to a specified account with the desired category caused it to crash). That is a major disappointment. I don't know if the app has been updated to fix the bug, but I did report it several times. I looked at the new features of 2014 and did not see anything that convinced me to upgrade again now.

Do you run a business? Is that why you use QH&B? Especially if you don't run a business, can you tell me why you run QH&B? What are the differences between it and regular Quicken and why do you prefer it?

I do some part-time freelance and contract work. Also, I like the mileage tracker for business, medical, and charitable. I bought it at a relatively cheap price, comparable to Premier. Otherwise I'd probably just use Premier for investment and tax purposes and track my personal tax deductible mileage in a spreadsheet.

Make sure you uninstall the previous revision manually! The upgrade process will not install the latest patches automatically and in my case resulted in Quicken not being able to start.

I'm not sure what you are indicating here? Do you really have to uninstall your current version of Quicken (in my case - Q2012) to upgrade to Q2014.

Has anyone upgraded from Q2012 to Q2014 without problems? Any insights/experiencies really, really appreciated.

Uninstall old version, install new version.

Q2012) to

I just told you from my experience upgrading from 2013 - it's a feature of

2014 not to install patches when upgrading - uninstalling first has no disadvantages except perhaps an extra reboot, it's logically the same thing as what the installer does except the patches are also installed.
