Back up Problem in Quicken 2006 Premier R4

Everytime I click on the backup icon I get a pop up window that reads: Please wait while Windows configures Quicken 2006. And then another pop up window on top of that that reads: There are Quicken components currently open, and can not be uninstalled. I do not want to uninstall anything. I just need to do a backup which was no problem before I updated a few days ago to Release 4. Can anyone suggest a fix for this aggravating problem?

No problems, here, backing up with R4.

Have you tried reinstalling the R4 Update?

Don't know whether this could be the problem or not, but did you install R4 as the same user that installed Quicken?

No I haven't tried reinstalling the R4 Update. How do I go about doing this without uninstalling the entire program and starting over?

I am the only user on this computer. But thanks for asking. I am getting close to the point of uninstall and reinstalling Quicken now. Any other ideas are welcome though.

Just download it and run it!

Thanks for the link Notan. I tried to run it but it says that the patch is already installed. Now it's time to uninstall and do a fresh reinstall of Quicken.

Ya beat me to it!

And, as always, keep a backup copy of your data files in a separate place, just in case of some type of corruption during installation.

Let us know what happens.

The reinstall went smooth. I let the update take care of adding R4 and alls well now. Thanks very much!
