Billminder

One of the features I always liked about Quicken was billminder. I left quicken several years ago and switched to money. I really like the layout of Money, but it is the most unstable software I have ever used and I have used many. Because of all of the corruption I came back to Quicken.

I am having a problem with Billminder. It shows schedule transactions which is what I want it to do, but it continues showing them even after paying them.

Any suggestions as to what causes this and how can I stop scheduled transactions from showing after they have been entered.

Thanks Bob

I've been having that same problem for about two months. I've been unsuccessful in resolving it. I hope someone has a fix for it! Bill

I have had problems with Billminder since probably before Q98. Every time I upgrade, I check to see if the billminder bugs have been fixed, and they never are. I still have the same problems in Q2005, with items displayed long after they should be gone, and items not appearing when they should. I tried deleting the rmd file, to no avail. I have given up using billminder. It is hopelessly broken.

Even the whole concept of checking only at logon time is questionable. I usually leave my computer logged in but locked, so Billminder rarely even gets to run unless I schedule it. The way MS Money did it (at least when I used Money 99) was superior. Its version of this was a tray icon that popped up whenever something became due, whether or not you log out and back on.

I think I resolved my own problem. For what ever the reason I a couple of other (duplicate with different names created on different dates) of other Quicken files in the same location as the current file. I moved those files to another directory and billminder is no longer finding them. It appears as though the duplicate entries that was showing in billminder were actually from the other files.

Let me know if that resolves your issues as well.

Thanks, but I have already tried all the suggestions regarding multiple quicken files, deleting reminder file, etc. I have only one quicken data file on my system, other than the backups that quicken itself automatically makes.
