Cash balance in transaction file

This is long, sorry. In the course of eastablishing a trust, several investment accounts were merged into a new account. The stocks and all cash from the linked account were moved. But now there is a cash balance showing in the account list. Because the balance is supposed to be zero, there's no balance column in the transaction register. The cash in the linked account is now zero, and the cash in the new linked account is OK. All the transactions seem to call for transfers, but it appears that the money was added to the linked account, but not removed from the transaction register. I now suspect that that is why the net worth reports are wrong. Ive been using Q for a long time, so there are a lot of transactions in those accounts. As I said, there's no balance column so it is hard to identify when or where the problem is. I'd welcome any offer of how to make adjustments.
