Changing where files are stored

When I type Ctrl-O, Quicken takes me to an unexpected location!

I would like to change that location so something like

C:\users\cyburnot\documents\quickenfiles

How do I do that?

I looked at C:\Program Data\Intuit\Quicken\Config\quicken.ini but did not see the pathname of that unexpected location.

I don't know what version of Quicken you're using, or what OS you're using, but with Quicken 2014 under Windows, when I hit Ctrl-O (or select Open from the menu), I'm presented with a more-or-less standard Windows file selection dialog which allows me to navigate to any directory on any drive on my PC.

Similarly, when I want to back up my current file by hitting Ctrl-B or selecting it from the menu, I can choose any directory on any drive on my machine.

So?

So how does that let me change the location of the data file?? :-)

SOLUTION: close Q, move the file from where it is to where I want it, then double-click the file in its new location. Voila!!

Irrelevant.

??? What's your point?

I never said that I had an issue with backups because I do not.

How about a simple FILE, Save a Copy as ... and stick it up any orifice that you choose. There was no need to be rude to Bert simply because he offered additional info.

Saying "Irrelevant" is rude? How about "...stick it up any orifice that you choose."

I think that Bert misunderstood what I wrote. His suggestion was not relevant to what I had asked. You "file copy" seems to be related to making backups. This is not an issue.
