about providing Class visibility in the Category report for Macintosh.

In Windows Quicken, apparently the only visibility for Class is if you manually ask to see each one, showing only one class at a time. Which is just too crude, but I would use Class if I could ever see it, as in this Mac version.

Am I missing something? Has anyone found this in the Windows version?

Yes you are missing something : Cash Flow and customize to show desired categories with columns for each class - for desired time interval.

Have used classes extensively - e.g., have a separate class for each vehilce as in the reference. Another example; classes are essential for tracking income/expense for multiple rental properties - asssign a unique class for each property.

Cash Flow, and then what? Itemized Cateories? All I find under Customize is a Class Tab, with a Match field for manually showing only one class at at a time. No subheader for class as shown in the link.

I'm using Q2005 H&B. (Windows) Is that my problem?

No.

Both the Banking Summary and the Cash Flow reports allow you to display classes in columns. And the Cash Flow Transaction report will subtotal on class.

May well be the problem - don't recall all the 2005 capabilities. Do know that the major change/upgrade in the 2006 version was reporting capabilty.

In QW 2006, the customize window for the Cash Flow Report includes a drop-down window to select column headings - including Class. Thus, I am able to essentially duplicate the referenced Auto Expense detail with a column for each auto [class].

As will the Tax Summary report.

Thanks for the help John. I see that now that you point out where it is - a few of these Cash Flow reports do have the subheader for Class columns (and several don't).
