Cannot Delete Attachment To Line Item

Assuming that when the original poster refers to "line item", he is referring to a Quicken "transaction": I do not see the reported problem in either R38.30 or R39.17.

I also do not find any way to delete an attachment to a transaction by right-clicking anything.

The way to delete an attachment to a transaction is to left-click the paper-clip icon on the transaction, left-click the ellipses (the three periods) in the resulting display, then click "Delete".

The fact that nothing appears to happen when the op left-clicks that ellipses, suggests to me that some corrupted data might be involved.

But, if the only issue is deleting an unwanted transaction attachment, there is another approach that will achieve the purpose. The simplest workaround is to right-click the transaction with the unwanted attachment and select "Copy transaction(s)"; then left-click in the same account register and select "Paste transaction(s)". The Pasted transaction will not have any attachment. The original transaction can then be deleted.

[If Copy/Paste is unavailable, the "new" transaction can simply be manually entered.]

Before deleting the original transaction, it's "Posting Date" should be checked. If the Posting Date of the original transaction is not blank, it's value should be entered in the "Pasted" copy. And if the original transaction was Reconciled, the Pasted copy should have its Clr Status manually changed to "R".

[To view, and modify, the "Posting Date" for a non-investment transaction: right-click the transaction, then hold down CTRL while left-clicking "Copy transaction(s)". The Posting Date will appear in the resulting dialog and can be modified there.] [While the workaround above is specifically for non-investment accounts, the same basic process should work for investment transactions; EXCEPT that some investment account types do not permit pasting transactions, and the Posting Date is not accessible in investment accounts. To workaround the inability to Paste a transaction, the "new" transaction can simply be manually entered.]
