Editing the posting dates
Found at:
Depending on the value of the "Transaction date" and the "Posting date":
1.) Modify the register transaction "Posting date" (which is NOT the same field as the "Downloaded posting date" - though it will typically contain the same date value) so the date occurs on, or before, the reconcile statement date.
2.) Modify the register transaction "Transaction date" so the date occurs on, or before, the reconcile statement date.
3.) Manually mark the transaction as Reconciled (Cleared-status=R) before starting the reconcile; then, if necessary, adjust the reconcile beginning or ending balance appropriately.
4.) Delete the downloaded register transaction, then manually re-enter it with a Transaction date that is on, or before, the reconcile statement date. The resulting "manual" transaction should have a blank "Posting date" - and a blank "Posting date" qualifies for any reconcile.
The user appears to have already tried option #2. I don't know whether options 1 and 3 are available in Quicken for the Mac; but at the least, I believe option #4 should available and should overcome the problem.
[In Quicken for Windows, option 1 isn't possible for investment transactions - though I think it should be.]
[It seems to me the origin of the problem is the financial institution; no transaction should appear in a statement unless the transaction has "cleared" the financial institution (meaning it should have a non-blank "Downloaded Posting date"). The op is claiming that the financial institution downloaded a transaction that did not clear the bank until after the ending date of the statement (based on the Downloaded Posting date) ... not logically possible.]
