Div reinvestments

My dividend reinvestments are raising my cost basis for my mutual fund in Q06, is there a way to correct this so it matches the correct amount of my online account?

Gee - it seems we just went through something like this recently (!).

Assuming your mutual fund is a taxable account (ie: not an IRA etc.), then reinvestments of dividends ARE part of the (stepped up) cost basis. So it's not Quicken that's wrong, it's your online account (whatever that means). Your online account actually tells you the cost basis in a mutual fund?

I had the same misconception until they helped me here...

What you are looking for is the "Amount Invested" and the "ROI%" columns on the Portfolio tab of the Investing Center. These colums are not "on" by default, so go to "Customize" and add them.

The reason your cost basis is adjusted up on a REINV-DIV is that under normal circumstances you would pay taxes on that amount when the distribution is made, so it adjusts your cost basis up so you don't pay taxes again when you sell.
