FIND problem

In using the FIND tool while in the register page, Quicken cannot find matching entries when there are entries that match what I have in the search field.

If I do a FIND ALL ,all entries are found. It is just on individual "finds" that I get a message there are no matching entries.

What do I do to correct this. I saw a post on this issue a long time ago, but cannot find it again.

FIND looks in the current register; FIND ALL looks in all registers (actually, either all investment account registers, or all non-investment account registers, depending on which type account is open when you initiate the find).

Why do you care which one finds what you are looking for?

I am aware of the difference. My point was meant to convey the transactions I was looking for were in fact in the open register.

Using FIND in that open register cannot find the transaction at all, even though it is there.

An odd question, but here goes:

I don't want to have to go to a list of all the transactions with the same search parameter. I just want to go directly in the register to the last transaction matching my search criteria.

Too, it is a programmed function, and it should work.

I a few years ago had this problem, and it owed to a setting iirc. I cannot find the resolution I used then.

And still have no real answer.

There are a few more pieces of information that you did not state, that might also be useful.

What version of Quicken are you using?

Does the problem occur in every Quicken account? If no, does in always occur in a specific Quicken account, or account type - or never in a specific Quicken account type.

Do you notice anything in common about the transactions that are found; anything in common about the transactions that are not found?

Depending on the reason for using the feature, sometimes there are alternate methods to accomplish the purpose.

But not material; only Intuit can fix bugs ... if this is a bug. And Intuit doesn't post here.
