How to handle PayPal downloads? Foreign currency transactions not correct.

I just discovered that PayPal allows users to download QIF files for importing into quicken. To take advantage of this I've just created a new account in Quicken Cash Manager 2008 for my PayPal account. (What type of account should I have used? Cash? Credit Card? Chequing?)

Through the PayPal website, I downloaded all my transactions from Jan 1 up to today and imported the QIF file into the new account. For some reason it just assumes that all transactions are in my default currency (CAD). Needless to say, this makes reconsiling this account impossible.

I went back to the PayPal website and downloaded a comma delimeted version (CSV) of my transactions for the year and this file shows the foreign currency debit, then a foreign currency credit, then the proper CAD debit. Scanning through the QIF file, I don't see the foreign currency transactions.

How should I be dealing with this problem. What is the correct way to download and import PayPal transactions in Quicken Cash Manager 2008?

Here is a sample of a what I get in my CSV for a single foreign currency PayPal transaction:

2/21/2007 2:04:11 PST oboStore.com eBay Payment Sent Completed USD -15.48 0 2/21/2007 2:04:11 PST From Canadian Dollar Currency Conversion Completed USD 15.48 15.48 2/21/2007 2:04:11 PST To U.S. Dollar Currency Conversion Completed CAD -18.58 0 2/21/2007 2:04:11 PST Credit Card Charge From Credit Card Completed CAD 18.58 18.58

Here is what my QIF file holds for the same transaction:

I don't have any experience with Cash Manager, but I have downloaded PayPal transactions (all 2 of them) via Express Web Connect in Q2008 H&B.

If you read posts in the Quicken Forums, you'll find that "Noozer" is "SimpleSimon" there ... an apt moniker.
