How to View OSU Data Download From Credit Card

I have a problem with the one transaction from a credit card. Is there a way to view the transactions file generated by the OSU in the "raw"? If such a file exists, where would I find it?

You can start by having Quicken display the "Downloaded ...." columns in your account register.

If there is insufficient information there, the OFX log will have all the data that was downloaded.

Help > Log files > OFX Log.

It can be difficult to find things in the Quicken display of the OFX Log. But if you use the "Save as" button, Quicken will create a .TXT file of the OFX Log, which you can view in Notepad, etc.

Thanks for the tips on OFX log. I did download to a TXT file and could see that the transaction is okay. It is the case where the OFX log contains the vendor name of "Village Pharm" where as Quicken loads it as "Village Pub" and categorizes it as a restaurant, not a pharmacy. I must have something in "renaming rules" or somewhere else that is screwing this up.

Thanks for your help

e that the transaction is

ge Pharm" where as Quicken

acy. I must have something

A renaming rule would be my guess also. Look for something with "Village" as the rule.

Apparently there is some kind of file that contains what Quicken thinks is the proper name and category for a particular company. I will try and find how to turn that off and then do a download to see if that fixes the problem.

If no renaming based on your Renaming Rules has taken place, look at these two preferences: Edit > Preferences > Downloaded transactions > Automatically categorize transactions Edit > Preferences > Downloaded transactions > Automatically apply Quicken's suggested name to payee

You can click the question mark in the lower left corner of the Downloaded transactions dialog to find more information about both preferences.

Great stuff. I will play with the options that are available there to see which one works for my situation. Thanks for your response.
