Ideas for a 'template' usage?

So I don't think Q has a template facility. I have in one of my NPO club accounts the need to make a deposit monthly that contains a number of different categories.

What I am think of doing is to make a split transaction with ALL the categories listed as zero dollars and saving this as a deposit well into the future (like 12/31/2099). This way it will simply sit at the bottom of the checking deposit register and I can copy and paste each month, and then simply add the individual real amounts.

Anyone have any other ideas or thoughts of perhaps how you might implement such a 'template' facility?

Do that but have it in bill reminders with auto enter on a given fixed date and then edit it after entry, not in the reminders list.

That's interesting, since I do have this appear as something I need to do on a repeating basis...I'll look into putting this in the BILLS facility so it auto enters into my register with all the lines populated. Thanks for that idea.

----- As an quick unrelated aside, I had a thought after my original post that I might not have enough lines in a split transaction. I read early on in Q that there was a limit of 30, bit I did test it and I see that there is (now?) a 'MORE LINES' box at the bottom of an entry, so it does look like I'll have at least the 45 lines I'll need. Each of my 9 depositors has 5 lines of unique category entries.

----- As a second quick unrelated aside, Before someone asks why I don't make

9 separate deposits for each individual depositor, I receive a single bill with each of these 9 broken down into the 5 categories each with a single PAYMENT due amount. And each of these categories has some debits and credits, it's not all a plus transaction for all 45 lines. This is very nice that Q can simply do all the math for me in one swoop and I just need to make sure the bottom line matches the totaled deposit due.

Some years back the limit was raised to 250 split lines.

Yes, I had a sickening feeling when I first thought about this and did that search in the Quicken Community. Then tested it. Thank the good Lord.

Thanks John. Looks like I'm good for all those limits!

Well, I just came across (I had done so in the past as well) a limit that is not included in that list. The number of saved reports in a folder appears to be about 26. Q is not letting me save my 27th transaction filtered report in a created folder; it is complaining about too many reports and to delete one to make room.

You're right, the FAQ does not cover all Quicken limits.

At the foot of that FAQ is the question: "Was this information helpful", with "Yes" and "No" buttons. Click the "No" button and you will get the opportunity to tell Quicken what you think.
