Interesting Set of Update Dialog Boxes from Q after update to 40.21

So when I did my usual daily thing on Q this AM, I was invited to download the latest version (QD for W) 40.21. After the installation, I got a couple of different dialog boxes telling me I wasn't on the latest version. Additionally, they said if I didn't upgrade by 2/21/22 (!), I would no longer be able to d/l various FI transactions.

After dismissing the two dialog panels, I then double checked with the HELP-->CURRENT VERSION panel which indeed said I was on the current version.

This post is merely an observation of interesting behavior.

Thanks John; interesting reading. Obviously I'm not the only one enjoying the "fun". I wonder what will happen tomorrow when I do my d/l thing again which I do daily with my morning cup of coffee listening to my classical music to keep me calm.

Regardless, I won't post that experience.

This and my original post was more of a interesting note, nothing I was really bent out of shape over.

Interesting. I have QDW R40.13 and when I check, it says I have the latest version.

New releases are staged: a small number of Quicken users are offered the new release, then no one else is offered the release until Quicken determines that there are no problems serious enough to preventing releasing to all users.

It showed up this morning.

Yes. I allowed Quicken to install it on my test pc this morning.

Typically, when a new release is no longer being staged, it becomes available for manual download.

At that time, you can download the new release by going to this site:

I meant to add that: if you don't download patches (or you don't save them when you do download them), and you need to reinstall a patch that is no longer available at the Quicken patch site; you can almost always download a missing patch from this site:

Quicken should be maintaining the older subscription release patches at:

Good to know, thanks.

I've long thought that Quicken should always have kept all patches available for download.

Fortunately, I have always downloaded every patch (and their accompanying release notes) and saved them. I'll continue to do that, as Quicken may change their policy again.
