Quicken 2008 Update Status Dialog

With quicken 2005 and previous versions, when an update is done, a dialog opens showing the status of the update. So, for example, the dialog would show:

- Updating stock prices

- Updating Securities

- Updating Bank Information

. . . etc. It seems that feature has been taken out in Q2008 or is there any way to get it back?

As best I can tell, this feature has been replaced in Q2008 by logos to the left of account names in the Account Bar. Accounts to be updated have a bluish donut-shaped logo which turns orange and spins for the account currently being updated. The logo then becomes an orange flag if there are updates to review. You won't see these logos if your Account Bar is minimized.

When the entire update is complete, by default, the One Step Update Summary appears. If it doesn't appear, click Online -> One Step Update Summary and, if desired, check or uncheck the "Show this dialog only if there is an error" box at the bottom of the window.

Does this answer your question?

Yes, thanks, however, I was hoping the answer would be, 'It is turned on by doing . . .'.

I have it turned oof, since I hate it. It only comes up when there is an error in the transmission/updating (which happens too often). I use the flags on the account bar list. Much easier on the eyes (IMNSHO).

I'm able to see that update status you're asking for - it looks a bit different from 2005 version, though. After OSU started (once the passwords are typed in), I click on the Update icon again - that brings up the status view.

Ok, that works, click on OSU, enter your PIN and when it starts, click on OSU again and a status/progress dialog comes up.

If only one account is updated then the old style progress dialog comes up.
