(Online) update dialog box no open

Quicken Premier 2016 R8. Windows 8.1, all updates applied. New problem as of this evening.

When I select "Update" the dialog box prompting for account passwords does not appear. In fact, nothing much happens at all. I have tried rebooting Windows, no improvement.

Any suggestions?

Instead of selecting "Update", I suggest you press Ctrl + 1.
