Q update history-what to expect.

What has the update to a new version of Quicken history been - and how soon does Q become obsolete where one is forced to "update" and pay for a new version? What if one is DLing directly from ones bank - will the older version keep working longer?

When one DL info from banks into Q then it appears that there will be a more or less constant fight between categories one has set up and the ever-changing corporate names. Pacific Bell -> Pac Hell->SBC->

AT&T and where she stops nobody knows. The old video store game.

Third point: How simple or involved is it to set up the system to pay EACH 'old time utility company' online using Q online directly from the bank? Phone calls? Applications? Both? Changes and problems that may require attention?

I'm considering online bill pay through my bank for four utilities only. I would start by moving funds from another 'closer bank' to avoid the more or less std $10 monthly fee.

A rational analysis would seem to indicate that this is not worth the effort or cost to switch from paper transactions. Am I wrong?

Regards, Joe

Really - and what takes place when you quote.
