Investment Bug

Possible investment bug using Quicken Classic Premier R58.9 on Windows

10 pro.

"Shares Transferred Between Accounts"

The first entry in my account is "Added"

Using "First shares in" the first entry is skipped, and, using "Lot identification", the first entry is not included in the selector but other "Added" entries are.

Adding the following EARLIER entries does not help:

- "Reminder"

- "Add" with zero shares

- "Add" and then "Remove" 1 share

Any suggested work around while waiting for a fix?

I also tried Editing the first entry and adding a duplicate and deleting the original.

It is more of a problem than I thought.

My oldest transaction is 12/31/95 and the lot selection starts at 10/31/99

I'm not getting a clear picture of what you're starting with and what you expect to end with.

What is your ultimate goal? Which account are you initiating the Transfer in: From or To? How many different securities in the From account? Are you trying to transfer all shares of all securities? All shares of one security? Some shares of one, or more securities?

In which account: the From or To account?

The result of a Shares Transferred between accounts should be one Shares Added transaction in the To account for each LOT in the From account.

I can't picture the goal there.

My project was to transfer from one account into two accounts because of a death. Account A has half shares at original cost and B half shares at markup to date of death cost.

It was my misunderstanding of the use of "Share Transfer" and "Transactions Move" functions

I have accomplished my task by using Move all transactions to A and then moving half from A to B and changing B transactions to Added at the stepped up cost on the DoD.
