Investment with linked cash account

Just learnng 2010 Home and Business after many years of MS Money.

I've done the data import from Money into Quicken and it seems to be quite accurate.

One thing I've run into is when I enter a transaction in the investment transaction register, sometimes the payee is shown in the cash register and sometimes not. The transaction itself always appears in the cash register, on some the payee is empty.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Not really enough information to tell what might be happening.

I did a quick check in Q2010 RPM R8 and every transaction type I entered in an investment account with a linked checking account (except for "margin interest") passed the "payee" on to the linked checking account. In most cases, it isn't really a "payee", but the "description" (which is often the name of the involved security). I entered Buy, Sell, Dividend, Return of capital, Bonds Bought, MiscInc and MiscExp transactions: all showed the "payee" in the linked checking account.

One thing to consider: transfer transactions only send payee/memo info when they are first entered. If you modify the payee, or memo in a transfer, it will not change the other half of the transfer.
