Is there a way to build a new datafile?

I have been having trouble with Q 2011 so I went back to 2010. I suspect the problem started back then (and I still think it relates to DropBox).

I would like to move all the data to a flat file and then import the whole shooting match into a new Quicken database. This should get rid of the problems I am having. I don't see a way to do this. I tried the export and import but the QIF file won't load bank files and the QFX file is not seen by my Q2010.

Is there a way to transfer these files so I don't get the corruption?

Do you have the last backup file from 2010? It might be easier to start from there and work forward. Can you download the data for that timeframe (month or 2?) from the bank into Quicken?

Oh, and use dropbox as a backup/file transfer system. Don't try and use it as a working file area. I suspect is where your corruption came from.

The 2010 file has issues as well. Probably from dropbox. I finallyunintalled it from my home machine and will do so from work today.Back to the USB drive.

I personally would not trust using a USB drive as your working drive with Quicken. Another potential source of file corruption. Use the USB drive to transfer the files between computers. Either transfer the complete set of files or use the Backup/Restore method to transfer the file to the other computer.
