How can I get Q05P to tell me how many shares of a specific security I had in an account on a specific date? I can see every transaction (reinvestment) but only the shares bought/sold are listed, not the total.
Number of shares at a point in time?

Select Investing | Portfolio from the top menu. Then in the resulting Portfolio view set "Show:" to Holdings, "Group by:" to Accounts and "As of:" to the date of interest. The total for each account appears in the Shares column and you can click the "+" to the left of each security to see the individual lots.
Other "Show:" settings may also work.
Post back if this isn't what you want.
Thanks, Jerry. That's less than obvious, but it worked. I wish Quicken would have a view that displays a running share total and cash total for the account.
It certainly has the running cash total (in the Transaction List). I've never found a running share balance.
