Online update, no password storage

I have been using Microsoft Money for years, but now I am back to Quicken 2010.

I would like to use the online update feature of Quicken for my checking account, credit cards, and brokerage. However, I do not wish to enter my password into Quicken for permanent storage in its data files.

How can I get Quicken to memorize my account numbers, but prompt me for passwords whenever I do online updates?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Open up the Password Vault and delete all of the passwords saved. This will cause the program to prompt you for the online passwords with each One Step Update.

Hi, David.

I use Quicken's Password Vault (on the Tools menu), as Laura suggested. I store my several passwords there, along with the URLs and account numbers to access each FI. Then I have to supply a single password for the vault itself each time I do a One Step Update. Quicken stores the vault in a file here on my own computer, NOT on Quicken.com or any other online location.

Is that what you are looking for?
