What is a "Previous Balance Field" and in what context is it being used?
Mike: Thanks for your time.
My wife was balancing the business checkbook.
Choose "Reconcile" from the activity window.
The Reconcile Startup window shows:
Previous Balance New Balance Service charge Interest earned
She had already reconciled the books to the penny, except for a two cent bank error that she knew about. She came back to this window and accidentally entered something in the "Previous Balance" field.
The end result is that Quicken now shows a deficit. The amount of the deficit is exactly the ending balance amount shown on the previous bank statement.
Quicken asks if we want to let Quicken reconcile the difference. If we click yes, Quicken will show our account will be light by over $900.
