I have added an external HD to my LAN that is network addressable via its enclosure, see for more info on this. The folders/files are accessible to all computers on my LAN via a Mapped Drive. Also I have moved the My Documents folder/pointer to point to this HD, and all of my files appear in Explorer as if they are on the C: drive. All in all it is working very well, except for the following problem I am having with Quicken.
The problem is now Quicken will not load my account on startup, instead it loads as a new install with the choice for a new user or existing user. Closing that dialog box, via the red X, and going to the File menu I see the 2 accounts I maintain listed in the file history list. Clicking on my account does load the file and all is well until the next time I start Quicken, and I have to go through the procedure again. I have found and verified that the Quicken.ini file contains the correct path to my data files.
To make matters even more frustrating, I maintain my mother-in-laws checking account in Quicken and in the same folder as my data. If her account is open when I close Quicken, the next time I start Quicken it will load her account data.
I have copied my account to a different data file and validated the new file, no errors, but even the new file will not open. Any ideas, thoughts, and suggestions on how I can get Quicken to opening my data file on startup?
TIA for your help and suggestions.
