Q04 UK R2 price history gone?

In fact I think I have found the problem.

Quicken has !!!! WIPED OUT ALL THE PRICE HISTORY FOR EVERY STOCK !!! other than the last 7 days worth. As the particular stocks are only updated every now and again, their last update was probably earlier than 22/04/05 which is the earliest that I now have in any stock.

I have lost all my price history since 1998.

Fortunately I take backups, but since the last full backup I have entered some data which I will have to reconcile now, and will be a pita.

Effing Intuit, I will be on the phone to them tomorrow with some choice words.

Anyone know where the price history data is kept?

You determined this by looking in Security Detail View, selecting the security, clicking Update > Edit Price History and seeing no prices?

Not sure if the UK version utilizes the same fileset structure as the US version, but if it does, I suggest finding your most recent backup fileset prior to the loss of prices, and making a more-or-less permanent copy of its ".qph" file (in the US version, the qph file contains securities prices - and only securities prices). Then rename your current .qph file, make a second copy of the backup .qph file to replace the renamed .qph file. This will give you prices as recent as that most recent backup, and make it easy to continue to be able to replace the current .qph file as long as downloads keep screwing it up.

Might be interesting to create a New Quicken data fileset, add those 3 funds to it, then do a download to see if anything points to the source of the problem. Look also for what those 3 funds had in common that your other securities did not.

Using your file extensions, my qph file went from 4.5Mb to 17K yesterday.

Fortunately I can just copy that file as you suggested and not have to reload all files from backup. I'll be taking backups nightly now I know this version is so dangerous. I have done so and have my price history back.
