Q2004 R2 bank sort codes?

Hi,

Quicken 2004 R2 has provison for bank sort codes in the Account attributes, but I cannot find out how to enter them. When I go to 'Edit Account Details' there is no field for sort code only account number.

Is this possible?

What's a "bank sort code"? Where do you determine that Quicken has a provision for them? In the US, the most current release of Q2004 is R5; are you using another country version?

GasMan is a UK user.

A sort code is the same as the Routing Number in US banks.

I think Quicken fills in the Sort code wen it establish an online connection with a FI. At least that is how it works here in the US.

Sort code is what we use here (UK) to identify a bank branch. It will actually identify more that that. IE 40-43-31 signifies HSBC by the 40 part. The rest identifies a branch in that network.

I guessed it might be something like that; in the US it is a "routing" number. Way back when, I remember entering routing numbers for accounts I wanted to download to; but I think now that Quicken puts the number there for us when we do the "setup" for downloading and log on to our financial institution.

In Q2004 H&B for Windows, US; when on the Overview tab of a bank account, there is a portion of the screen titled "Account Attributes", below which is a button labelled "Edit Account Details". Clicking Edit Account Details pops up a dialog box which has fields to enter both the account number and the "routing" number. Perhaps the UK version has something similar.

Almost the same on the UK version except no mention of sortcode when you Edit Account Details, but it is there when you view the account Overview.

As a programmer it does make me wonder who tests this stuff before giving it to the public.!!!????

I used to keep it >GasMan wrote:
