Q2004 - Investment Accounts

Mar 22, 2005 1 Replies

In this version, Intuit did away with the register for investment accounts. The transaction list does not show an account balance as the old register did, and I find no way to chamge that. Here's a problem that that caused, just FYI. I found that the cash amount shown in the account summary and in the Portfolio for one account did not agree with the amount in the linked cash account. It also showed a cash balance in the summary section. With much digging I found a sell transaction that was coded as Sell, when it should have been SellX! Since you can't edit this field in the transaction I had to delete it and reenter it. It was automatically coded as SellX and the numbers were immediately resolved!

I have to agree, not every 'improvement' Intuit makes is good. I went from

2000 to 2004 and was quickly disappointed. I will never again sell my dowloading stock prices rights for such crap programming. I too miss the investment register. :(
