Register problem

We use QW 2003 deluxe. Entries that are made in an investment register will not retain the information that uses the sell X command, although I am able to find it in the account the money was transferred to. Is there an area thatI need to investigate to find out if the system is setup correctly. Thank-You

Give us more information. What "information" is it not retaining -- the transaction? the share balance? the cash balance?

SellX means "sell the security and transfer the cash to another account". If you want to retain the cash in the investment account, use Sell instead.

Thank-You Fred for your reply, Yes I am aware what the sell X represents. Example: I removed X number of shares from several investment accounts and sent the proceeds to a savings bank & a money market Brokerage account. After appro: two weeks I went back into the accounts to make dividend & interest payments in the registers.

There were no transactions in the registers that we made previously. I then went to the bank & brokerage account where the money was sent and there was the money that was sent. Confusing would you say?

Yes, it's confusing.

What happens when you re-enter the transactions? What happens when you go to the bank account transaction and hit Ctrl-X. Does it take you to the investment account transaction? What is the category on the bank account transaction?
