I'm a long time Quicken user, going back to one of the early Quicken for DOS versions.
Tax Reports -- As 2005 winds to an end, I recently tried generating a Schedule D Report. I discovered that Q2004 can only generate this report for years 2001-2004. This seems to be a deliberate dumbing down of the software. I don't recall this limitation in prior versions.
Yes, I know that the CPAs will respond that you need to know the holding period for long vs short term gains and Intuit As this is a simple listing of date of purchase, date of sale, purchase price, sales proceeds and gain/loss, there is not any reason to be terribly concerned about changes in tax law. Indeed, the similar Capital Gains Report is not troubled by the calendar year. Nor is the Tax Schedule Report.
Question-- Does this limit exist in Q2006? Has Intuit expanded this limit to the Tax Schedule Report or the Capital Gains Report?

Separate Question. I manually input the wrong amount for a 401(k) deduction in a paycheck entry. It's stored in a hard to access Tax Impact Account. Deleting the paycheck entry and re-entering results in
2 entries for the same date -- a correct one linked to the paycheck deposit and the error entry not showing any linked entry.
The only place I have found that you can see the Tax Impact Account entry is in the Tax Schedule Report. But Q2004 does not permit you to drill down to get to the actual entry to correct it.
In fact, in my efforts to correct this entry, I now have 3 entries -- the correct one and 2 incorrect ones that I cannot get rid of !!!
This has been occasionally reported in this forum, but I've never seen a solution, unless you call deleting that checking account and manually re-entering 7 years of data a "solution."
(Yes, I've validated, supervalidate, copied the Quicken file into a new Quicken file (which appears to fix things that validate misses.))
Question -- Does Q2006 fix this problem (the inability to correct Tax Impact Account entries)?
thanx
