Q2008D = Do 'scheduled OSU' really work?

I think there are some interesting things said there that do not get posted here.

I try to post the things here I think are important from the forums, but there is too great a volume to get it all ... and I sometimes forget.

And their search feature doesn't work very well.

This is a known bug. I have been using a password protected file and using scheduled updates (or OSU) for many years. Mid-2007 this feature stopped working. Rebuilding the pin vault doesn't help. I just upgraded to Q2008 (it was free after $60 rebate) hoping the problem would be fixed in the new release, but to by continuing disappointment, the problem still exists.

This can be found on the Intuit Web site under support for Q2008:

Topic title: Error: "An error has occurred with the last download session" or Scheduled Update is not working

Topic description: If you have a password protected Quicken file, the Scheduled Update feature does not work properly. The most common error message is: An error has occurred with the last download session. Intuit is aware of this issue and investigating possible solutions. Currently, the only solutions are either to remove the file password or do not use the Scheduled Update feature. This page will be updated when additional information is available. Intuit has been aware of this for quite some time. They broke this feature with one of their release upgrades. I'm surprised they have not been able to implement a fix. I can only imagine that this broke as the result of closing some type of security vulnerability and fixing it without re-exposing the vulnerability is problematic.
