Quicken Bill Pay activates itself and links to my Chase VISA?

I have never, ever used Quicken Bill Pay, but I noticed that the after doing a OSU (QP2008), I keep getting the summary page where I've checked the "only display if there's an error" box. Upon further investigation, I see there's an entry for me to enter my Quicken Bill Pay password. But I have none, because I don't *use* QBP. When I looked in the Online Center and Pin Vault, I can see an entry for Quicken Bill Pay that believes itself to be connected to my Chase VISA account (has direct download btw). When I edit my Chase VISA account, it says online bill payment is not available, and the only option is to remove the account from OSU.

I seem to recall others having this problem during a previous Quicken upgrade, but I'm at a loss as to how it was remedied. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks and Regards,

Margaret

I googled and finally found a thread in the Quicken User Forums where this was a known bug back in 2005, and it took a patch from Inuit to correct the problem. I definitely remembered the problem but was at a loss for the solution. Unless there's something else, now I just have to wait.

I'd appreciate it if anyone has any other info on this subject.

Thanks and Regards,

Margaret

I guess no one else has seen this prob due to the dearth of responses. Anyway, I scanned my posts on the same subject on the Quicken user forum from 2005. I see that my brute force solution was to delete the *.QEL file and redownload. It meant deleting a fair number of duplicate transactions, but the QBP entry is gone!

Just thought I'd post this in case it does crop up for someone else.

Regards,

Margaret
