Quicken 2006 backup restore problem

Feb 25, 2006 1 Replies

Hi,

I'm trying to restore a backup that I made several days ago. I'm following the instructions from the help file.

1) File->restore
2) Choose the file
3) Press ok on the warning that I'll overwrite the existing file
4) It shows another message saying that it restored successfully the backup file. It says open the file by choosing Open from the File menu.
5) I open the QDATA.QDF file but it contains the same data as before the restore.

What do I do wrong?

I'm using Quicken XG 2006.

Thank you in advance.

You are doing nothing wrong. It may be that the backup you are restoring from does not look different than the file it overlaid. Besides, after the first time you tried this, the file will have been overlaid and subsequent attempts would not have yielded any change at all.

It is always better to restore a backup to a new directory rather than to overlay an existing file.
